Laura Pudwell’s international profile is well-established as a result of her recent performances in Paris, Salzburg, London, Houston, Boston and Vienna. Her gifts are appreciated in repertoire ranging from early music to contemporary works. Her versatile voice has been featured in several contrasting programs including Charpentier’s Actéon, Schafer’s Minnelieder, Bach’s Magnificat, Lucas et Cécile, and Stravinsky’s Rakes Progress. Her discography includes Orlando Lasso: Chansons and Madrigals (Dorion DIS-801-49) and Full Well She Sang with the Toronto Consort, Haydn with the St. Lawrence Choir, and Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Le Concert Spirituel.

Ms Pudwell has been heard in opera and oratorio performances throughout North America with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calgary Opera, the Houston Grand Opera, Opera Atelier, Symphony Nova Scotia, the Vancouver Opera and the Boston Early Music Festival. Last season included a European tour and recording of Dido and Aeneas with Hervé Niquet, her debut at the Winter Park Bach Festival for the Mozart Mass in C Minor and Bach’s Mass in B Minor. Her summer performances featured her in the Bruckner Te Deum at the Elora Festival. Recent highlights include de Falla’s El Amor Brujo in London, Mrs Quickly in Falstaff with Hans Graf, Handel’s La Resurrezione with Opera Atelier, Houston Grand Opera’s Dido and Aeneas, Vivaldi’s Gloria in Vancouver and Montreal, and a Canadian tour Handel’s Messiah conducted by Andrew Parrott.
