David Sinclair

Canadian bassist David Sinclair began study of his instrument with Nanci-Carol Davis and Joel Quarrington of the Toronto Symphony. In 1985 he obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston University, working with Lawrence Wolfe. Upon graduation he received Boston University’s “Kahn Award” as well as awards from the Chaulmer’s Fund and the Canada Council towards further studies in Vienna with the renowned bassist Ludwig Streicher.

He now bases his freelance career in Paris, performing with both modern- and period instrument ensembles: The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Ensemble Baroque de Limoges under Christophe Coin, Musica Antiqua Köln and his own ensemble, Les Concertistes.

David Sinclair teaches at the Schola Cantorum of the Basel Music Academy in Switzerland.
