A graduate from the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique of Montreal, Sophie Faucher lives a prolific career. At the theatre, she works with several great directors such as Françoise Faucher, Olivier Reichenbach, Alexandre Hausvater (Alma Mahler), André Brassard (Six personnages en quête d’auteur), Danielle Suissa (Antigone), Monique Duceppe, Alice Ronfard (Marie Stuart), and several others. At the moment she plays with brio Frida Kahlo at the Théâtre de la Bordée in La Casa Azul from Robert Lepage, touring around the world. Lets remember her roles in the films Ding et Dong, le film, J’en suis and La face caché de la Lune. And soon we will be able to see her in the new film by Danny Laferrière, Comment conquérir L’Amérique en une nuit, as Denise. On television, she played in numerous series such as Les fils de la Liberté, Signe de feu, Montréal PQ, Épopée en Amérique, Juliette Pomerleau, Ces enfants d’ailleurs, 4 et demi, as well as Tohu-Bohu for which she received the Gémeaux prize for best female performance in a youth series. It’s a great pleasure to see her regularly in Virginie, as Maître Suzanne Lebrun. Presently, she also plays Crystal in the delirious series Le Coeur a ses raisons. Sophie Faucher has participated several times in the Festival de Trois in Geste by Anne-Marie Alonzo, Feux by Marguerite Yourcenar and La Demoiselle Sauvage by Anne Hébert. She also conceived the lecture, direction and interpretation of Les mots pour dire Marie (mixed texts by Marie Cardinal).
