It is his unique style, combining force with a surprising tenderness, which allows him to stands out during his time. Sarah Levy-Itzig, an excellent keyboardist and Felix Mendelssohn\u2019s future great-aunt, placed him an order in 1788 for three <em>Quartets <\/em>for flute, viola, the required keyboard and cello <em>ad libitum <\/em>\u2013 an unusual distribution!
