Poem for Nevers à l’envers

Alors que naissent les premiers bourgeons de mai,
Et que partout on entend le chant des pinsons,
Je cherche dans les bois ma Muse à écouter,
Car me voilà pris en panne d’inspiration.

Nicandro et Fileno sont peut-être heureux,
Filli et Lidio sont désormais réunis,
Tandis qu’Eurillo a retouvé sa Clori,
Mais mon esprit continue d’être ombrageux.

Hélas les cordons de ma bourse se sont déliés,
Car mon appétit de l’Art me pousse à la dépense,
Et les précieux écus se sont envolés.

We hope to have seduced you with a little taste of our poetry – our Duke of Nevers, straight out of the production Nicandro e Fileno, always knows what to say!

As we do every spring, we ask for your help in order to continue presenting you with artistic projects that meet our ambitions. Private revenue from your donations and sponsorship represents 10% of our annual budget, and is essential to keep our organization running.

We invite you to donate using the form provided on our website. The suggested amount for this year’s campaign is 75$. Those donating over 500$ are invited to take a seat at our table in October for dinner with the director at the house of the Executive Board President, Sylvain Leith.
