Francis Colpron en sonate

[vc_separator type=’transparent’ position=’center’ color=” thickness=’5′ up=” down=”]

For this occasion the ensemble will comprise
three instrumentalists

[vc_separator type=’transparent’ position=’center’ color=” thickness=’5′ up=” down=”]

Francis Colpron will play Italian works from the 17th and 18th centuries for this recital. Instrumental virtuosity, which became exuberant in the Baroque era, was never gratuitous but rather served to express emotion. Such virtuosity developed at the dawn of the 17th century, first among violinists, but soon spread to highlight the distinctive characteristics of wind instruments. In this concert, Francis Colpron will play both recorder and traverso, accompanied by Mélisande Corriveau on cello and Mark Edwards on harpsichord.

THE ARTISTS [vc_separator type=’transparent’ position=’center’ color=” thickness=’1′ up=” down=”]

  • Francis Colpron, flute
  • Mélisande Corriveau, cello
  • Mark Edwards, Harpsichord
